Free = Good PR!!

So i have raved about the Xbox Live on my blog before and i am again.

Today at 1am PCT the Xbox Live Arcade came "Texas Hold Em" was released to the masses for the first 48 hours... for FREE!!

Yup thats right as of right now until Friday morning at 1am PCT again, you can get the entire game for free, not just the demo. That is great PR for any company in the game industry. This should be the new standard (i realize that it won't, no one will make money, but still) in downloadable content. If you want people to be swayed from one side of "the console war" to another, offer them free games.

I started my DL this morning so that i wouldn't miss out on this one. I can only hope that maybe some of the new "Indy" games will do something of the same from now on. Being this is the only other Arcade game that i have the full version of that is saying a lot that i got it now. At least until Lumines Live comes out at the begining of next month.

Yaaaaay.... Boooooo

Well today i got the news from my sources (JoyStiq) that there is at this moment a demo for Dead Rising waiting for me to Download when i get home today. (Yay!!)

But there will not be a demo available for Gears Of War at any point and time on Xbox Live. (Booo!)

For those of you that don't know Dead Rising is the next "Zombie Fueled Death Machine" From the house that Resident Evil and StreetFighter. (Capcom) From the Webisodes that i have seen on this one it looks like it will be hella fun. and why shouldn't it be, find zombies, kill with what ever you can get your hands on, lather, rinse, repeat.

Gears of War will be the next big thing from Cliffy B and the Unreal team. Also this game is slated to release a few days before the release of the PS3, in the hopes that some folks will be playing GOW instead of going out an standing in line for the $600 Cinderblock.

An the Hits Just Keep Coming...

So this Xbox Live thing is Fan-Fuckin-Tastic.
In the past like week and a half i have downloaded like 4 demos for my Xbox 360. Heres the list:
Rock Star Presents - Table Tennis. (Ping Pong like you have never seen it.)
Galaga - (Old Skool fun and still hard)
Saints Row - (GTA on the 360 only way more indepth at least before GTA IV)
Street Fighter II Hyper Fighting - (God I Love to Hate that game)
Ninety Nine Nights - (Hack-n-Slash button masher with flair)
All demos all free most of them are a lot of fun, (especially Saints Row, I love beating up people for no reason at all and then just killing random gang members to make my gang better)
If you own an Xbox 360 i suggest that you get Live and get the demos rolling.
Oh yeah and a demo for Dead Rising is coming out sometime this week aswell.
Peace
