Sooo... this is free???

Ok so like i said before, i started up my Xbox Live the other day and messed around with it a little bit. Well i am very happy with the fact that instead of waiting for a game to come out and wondering if i will like it, or even waiting for the demo to come out i can go on Xbox Live and get a demo for the game... for free.

This is only that much better when the game is sweet like "Lost Planet" (a game that premiered at E3) to rave reviews, and i can see why. I played just part of it last night and it was amazing. Walking thru the snow, leaving tracks, the sounds the explosions, just the full on fun of the game, was well worth the $0 i paid for it.

I aslo got a demo for Geometry Wars Evolved. Sounds super dorky but i can asure you it has absolutly nothing to do with Math. The best way to describe it is like Asteriods (remember way back for that one) on a bad Acid trip. (or a good one i guess)

Also got a demo for Uno... yes that Uno!! Sounds really lame but damn is it addicting to play. So if your wondering what to get that UberGamer in your life. You might think about getting them a preloaded card with some Microsoft points on it. If they are the rabid gamer that most are it will be money well spent.

Also i played Call of Duty 2 online last night aswell. Fun, and yet very disturbing. i was having so much fun playing the game that i almost didn't realize the shear number of complete morans on there talking trash that shouldn't be. i did like being able to snipe most people before they even got wind that i was even in their area. There is something to be said about the power of subtle way a bullet zinging by your head from out of nowhere can make you feel like you are really being hunted.

Xbox Live and Me.

So i kicked off my Xbox Live account yesterday, and i have to say that it is the coolest thing ever. Yeah i know that i am a little late with the review of this but until i got my 360 i never really wanted to have a live account. Now that i do and can download all kinds of cool content and game demos and god knows how many Live Arcade games, i can say that it is very sweet. If you own an Xbox 360 or regular Xbox, i would recommend that you get a Live account. I only played one multiplayer game yesterday of Perfect Dark Zero and it was pretty fun. I didn't hook up my headset b/c i just didn't get it out of the box but i will next time.

If your on Xbox Live and you wanna game against me my gamer tag is "WiFi Pirate" (thanks Bill) just send me a message and i will be glad to put the hammer down.

Oblivion... Sucks?!?!

Let me explain, this game is so good that it sucks! I want a game that i can play for a while then be able to put it down, and go about my normal (some what anyways) life. But NOO!! i can't do that with Oblivion. I pick it up and want to play just one quest, and so i start one off and then out of nowhere the next quest is just as intresting. so then i end up playing for like 4 hours and lose all track of what i was supposed to do during the day. This game will ruin your social life and damn well might ruin a marriage. Don't get this game unless you want to play one game for the rest of your life. I can't even play the other 2 games that i got with my 360 simply because Oblivion takes up all my time.

Its New To Me!!

Call of Duty 2
Perfect Dark Zero
Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

Thats the first three games that I got this weekend when i bought my 360.
I got my 360 (the $399 jammy) and with three games the only extra cost to me was $4.
I saved 365 dollars (that was going to my PS3) plus the $70 or so that i got when i sold back my old games, plus the used games were buy 2 get 1 free, and i had the "Edge Card" that got me 10% off the price of said used games. So like i said the only out of pocket cost was $4, and i may be selling my old xbox and a couple games to either a friend of mine or to a friend of my wife.
So i will be enjoying my new toys for a while. probably won't be getting a new game until either Dead Rising or Gears of War hits sometime in the fall.

Fuck you and your GameStop...

So i went last night to trade in my old Xbox, as well as some other things, to get money for my New Xbox 360. Since the merger between Gamestop and EB they have adopted the rules of Gamestop. So first of all they don't take any PS1, or anything before that, games and they also don't buy back any cds. So that sucks, and worse than that they wouldn't buy back my old xbox. Let me explain why this pisses me off. First there was nothing wrong with the system, it worked perfectly was clean, had two controllers, cords and everything was fine, it just didn't have a barcode on the back. So here is problem number two I BOUGHT THE FUCKING SYSTEM FROM THEM!!! It wouldn't have been that big a deal if i hadn't purchased the very system from them used without a barcode on it in the first place.

So that was an extra $80 towards my 360 that i didn't get, and because of that i wasn't able to get my 360 last night. But that won't stop me, i am still shopping around and hopefully will be able to find one that fits my price range. Wish me luck.

The Secret life of a Xbox 360 Fan...

So i have come to grips with the fact that i am not going to get a Playstation 3. I just can't risk spending that much money on something that could flop (i know deep down that it won't but if there is even the slightest possiblity i can't). So at some point soon i will be purchasing a Xbox 360.

Now i know what you may be saying to yourself (bill and brian) you trashed the 360 for so long, now you're going to buy one. Well in a word... Yes. The bugs have been worked out now, and the system has a solid platform to stand on now, no guessing if there are going to be good games coming out soon, and quite frankly i am very jealous of the people that will be able to play some great games coming out in the future that i won't be able to get on anything other than a 360.

So i am no longer a closet 360 fan. I can come out and proudly proclaim that yes, I want a 360, and i don't care who knows it. I want to be able to play Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Gears of War, Dead Rising, and of course Halo 3. I want to be part of the Xbox Live party, and i want to be able to get into a death match with a eleventeen year old and lose all the while hearing him spill random obscenities out of his pre "oooh my balls dropped" mouth.

I want a 360... there i have said it, you can quote me.

Well played Bill Gates.... Well played indeed.

HEEEELLLLPPP!!!!!

I am really starting to question if the PS3 is really worth the $600 price tag that comes along with it. I am a Die Hard Fan of the Playstation and all things Playstation, but i really don't know if i should save the money up for this ... this... thing.

I am starting to consider the idea that i can get a Nintendo Wii AND a Xbox 360 for the same price that i can get a PS3. I want to support the Playstation and say that it will win in the console war again, but i just don't have the money to sink $600 into a system that might not make it. Can anyone give me any advice? Anyone, anything?? I'm very conflicted and i need someones advice here.
